Title: Challenges in Optical Interconnect Technology in Hypescale Data Centers

This presentation will focus on the development of optical interconnect technology, specifically for Hyperscale Data Center. The rapid expansion of hyperscale DC in the past decade has inevitably push the limits of conventional interconnect technology. As they adopt higher speed links such as 100Gbps, 200Gbps and also very soon 400Gbps, copper interconnect is physically limited in terms of speed and also distance. Hence the use of optical technology is essential to enable the function of current digital applications. The presentation will touch on the new interconnect form factors, the standards in development and also the industrial trends driving the mast adoption of optical interconnect technology. Lastly, we will touch on the new challenges that Data Center owners/operators, installers and also users will face in the coming years as more applications are being hosted in these Hyperscale DCs
